2002-2003 Team

2002-03: It was a tough winter for a proud program. The Cyclones had victories over then-No. 3 Minnesota (22-18) and then-No. 13 Oklahoma (27-19), but they also lost to Northern Iowa at home for the first time since 1951. Iowa State finished 8-10 in duals, its first sub-.500 record since going 8-9-1 in 1988-89. The Cyclones finished last in the Big 12 Conference tournament and failed to crown an individual champion for the first time in 13 years. They tied with Pittsburgh for 30th in the NCAA Tournament, Iowa State's lowest finish since 1962. Iowa State did not have an NCAA semifinalist for the first time in 41 years.
